HomeAbout UsFrequently Asked Questions

At what age should an Orthodontist first examine my
child?
We see children at approximately eight years of
age to evaluate the arrival of their upper and lower
permanent, front teeth. On occasion we examine children
at younger ages if they have specific problems such as a
thumb habit.

When treatment begins, how often will my child need to
be seen?
Once the braces are initially placed, patients
will be seen every 3 to 4 weeks.

Can I schedule appointments after school? We
schedule shorter adjustment appointments after school
to accommodate more students during these hours.
However, longer appointments need to be
scheduled earlier in the day.

How long do patients need braces? At the initial
examination appointment each patient is presented
with a treatment plan and an estimated length of
treatment time. This time estimate may extend
longer if tooth movement is slower than anticipated.
Regular appointment attendance is essential to
complete treatment on time.

Do you have payment plans? All treatments are presented with a payment plan. An initial
down payment is due upon brace placement. Monthly payments are interest-free.

Will you accept my insurance? We will be happy to evaluate your insurance plan and
determine your orthodontic benefits. We are a Preferred provider for Delta Dental Premier
and United Concordia. Please bring your insurance information to the initial consultation
visit.

Do you take credit or debit cards? We do have credit or debit card transactions.  We
made this available for our patient's with healthcare spending cards as well as for all our
other patient's needs.  We also provide in house interest free payment plans.

Does the doctor do the brace adjustments? Dr. Mohr personally
performs brace placement and all monthly adjustments. He has
assistants that prepare patients for each appointment procedure.

How long do patients wear retainers? Once retainers are placed, they
are worn during the day and night for the first six months. After that time
wear is reduced to night only. Further reduction in hours of wear is
determined by how each patient's teeth are stabilized in their permanent
position.
